Dr. G.Glan Devadhas, B.E., M.E., Ph.D., is working as Vice Principal of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, Kannur, Kerala from 1st June 2020. He received his Doctoral Degree in 2013 under the faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PRIST University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, and Master’s Degree in Process Control and Instrumentation in 2001 from Annamalai University. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering in 1998 from the University of Madras.
He has held various positions as Professor, Head of the Department, Board of Studies Chairman, Academic Council Member, and Doctoral Committee Member in various Engineering Colleges and Universities and has 19 years of experience in teaching and research.
Professor Glan has authored and co-authored 71 journal papers in SCI,Scopus Indexed Journals, and International Conference Proceedings. In addition he has received research and seminar grants from various organizations such as ISRO,DRDO, CSIR, AICTE, KSCSTE, ANERT, and KTU. He is serving as the Associate Editor of the Elsevier CAE Journal and reviewer of many journals including the International Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering,Journal of Water Process Engineering, International Journal of Modeling,Simulation & Scientific Computing, etc.
He has participated in more than 50 seminars at National and International levels. He has organized 6 IEEE International Conferences, 1 National Conference,and 10 national level seminars. One of his research scholars has completed her doctoral program and two others have submitted their thesis. Currently, 5 scholars are pursuing their research work under his guidance. He has also supervised 30 UG projects and 12 PG projects.
He has membership in professional bodies such as ISA, ISTE, and IEEE. He was the Vice-Chair of the IEEE India CASS Chapter during 2016-2019. He played a major part in the successfully completed NIU-SAT a nano-satellite project as Deputy Project Director from 2010 to 2015. His research interests include Soft Computing, Intelligent Controller Design, System Identification, Adaptive Systems, and Smart Systems.
